SFDR Disclosure Motanka Beheer B.V.

Sustainability-related information

On 10 March 2021, the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2019/2088; the “SFDR”) entered into force in the Netherlands. This European regulation requires certain financial market participants (such as alternative investment fund managers) to publish sustainability-related information on their website and in pre-contractual information.

Motanka Beheer B.V. (“Motanka) is a manager of alternative investment funds (AIFM) within the meaning of Article 2(1) of the SFDR. The investment funds are managed as investment funds without sustainable characteristics or objectives within the meaning of Article 6 of the SFDR and not as an investment institution with sustainable characteristics within the meaning of Article 8 of the SFDR or as an investment institution that has sustainable investments as its explicit object within the meaning of Article 9 of the SFDR.

Below you can read more about how Motanka takes sustainability aspects into account when making investments.

Transparency of sustainability risk policies

Motanka currently does not consider the adverse impacts of its investment decisions for the Motanka funds or the underlying portfolio companies on sustainability factors, within the meaning of Article 4(1)(a) of the SFDR.

Since the portfolio companies Motanka invests in are early-stage with limited resources and a small administrative overhead, the collection and evaluation of detailed sustainability indicators is considered disproportionate compared to the achievable benefits, on the environmental side, but also in relation to social, employee and human rights-related matters. Also, sustainability risks are not included in determining remuneration at Motanka.

We are however continuously monitoring our approach in this respect and may re-evaluate the inclusion of adverse impacts of our investment decisions on sustainability factors. In the future, Motanka may decide to take into account the fundamental adverse effects of investment decisions on sustainability factors
